U17s star for East Yorks

East Yorkshire's U17s completed a clean sweep over the county's other three district representataive sides when they defeated West Yorkshire 15-5 at Wetherby on Sunday.
Pocklington RUFC contributed a remarkable 12 players to East Yorkshire's ranks, and the Pocklington lads played a leading role in the unbeaten record by also dominating the team's points scoring. The Pocklington dozen were Tim Bennett, Alex Webster, Billy Higgins, James Stuart, Joe Bijster, Richard Skrowronek, Tom Peters, Rob Atherton, Sam Caines, Matt Axup, James Wilkinson and Charles Thompson.
The Pocklington lads will now be keeping their fingers crossed that their performances with East Yorkshire have impressed the county selectors for the Yorkshire squad which is due to be announced later this week.
