Pocklington U15s Girls 3

Johnson Haulage sponsored Pocklington girls played the majority of this match a player down, but this didn't stop them scoring first and having most of the play.

The girls started well again and knew they were going to
have to work hard to be in with a shout to win the game before their talismanic striker Simms arrived after a week's shopping in Bruges.

The hosts were restricted to a couple of chances in the first half but after Pock had laid siege to the Cop goal, Mel Turner curled the ball beautifully to score direct from a corner for Pock to take the lead.

Copmanthorpe then threw everything at Pock and were fortunate when goal scorer Turner slipped while trying to defend, the ball being poked over the line by a forward. Shortly after the second half started Simms arrived and her impact was felt as she latched on to a through ball only to shoot straight at the keeper. It wasn't long before more chances fell to Pock with Simms and Woodburn completing the scoring for the girls to take a well earned victory.

Girl of the game this week goes to Mel Turner whose grit, determination and quality carried the team through the first half.
