SHIPTONTHORPE Falcons Under 8s football team have been given a boost with the donation of a brand new football strip by Specsavers in Beverley.
The opticians came to the rescue when they heard that the team, who play in the Hull Boys Sunday League, were in need of a new kit. The store stepped in to foot the bill to ensure the team looked spic and span for the new season.

Tony Baker, joint director of Specsavers in Beverley explained: “We firmly believe in supporting our local community and we were happy to help out the Falcons. We hope the new kit inspires the team to play well this season.”

Gill Needham, from the Shiptonthorpe Falcons commented: “We’re so grateful that Specsavers could help us out. The team are thrilled to pieces with their new kit and I think it will make a real difference to how they play.”

The Shiptonthorpe Falcons, who are all aged under eight, will wear the kit at their weekly training sessions and during matches against the other teams in the league.

As part of their sponsorship of the team, Specsavers will also be providing the ‘Player of the Season’ with a prize.
