Urgent police appeal to find Yorkshire woman who has been missing for a week

Police have issued an appeal to find a woman who has gone missing, with friends and family saying it is 'out of character'.

UPDATED AT 3.30pm: Police have confirmed Rachel has been found safe and well in Bridlington.

North Yorkshire Police is appealing for the public's help in finding Rachel Clare Atkinson, 54, of Fetter Lane in York.

She was last seen at her home on May 19 and was reported missing on May 24. Officers' attempts to locate her have raised fears for her welfare, police said.

They believe she left home without her medication, mobile phone or bank card.
