A BLINDFOLD walk around Pocklington Market Place helped raise awareness of Guide Dogs.
Four dogs in training to be guide dogs, two qualified guide dogs and their owners were in Market Place to show the work carried out by Guide Dogs every day - such as helping someone through a busy street.

The morning also raised £171 for the charity.

Susan Glover, Pocklington branch organiser for the charity, said: “I would like to thank everyone who generously donated.

“Many thanks also to the Guide Dog staff who supported us on our awareness day. Although in unfamiliar surroundings, with roadworks in progress and being market day, the dogs in training worked with confidence – a credit to themselves and their trainers.”

She said a lot of people took leaflets and information from the morning.

Clubs, organisations or workplaces wanting leaflets, a short DVD presentation or general information on Guide Dogs should contact Susan (01759 388701) or the Hull office (01482 853033)
