NEWBALD men, including three parish councillors, have stripped to raise money for the village playing field.
Well-known faces from the village pose in The Gentleman Of Newbald calendar with nothing but objects from their work or tools of their trade to hide their modesty.

Newbald Playing Field Committee produces a calendar each year to raise funds, and in the past it has always featured village views.
Nina Chapman, committee chairman, said the committee had some new members so they decided "new committee, new calendar" – and this one offers some alternative views of the village.

She said: "Lots of ladies on the committee thought we should do a calendar with the men. Becky O'Sullivan and Sally Askam have done most of the organising. It's been very popular. We have sold 40 over the weekend."

The committee needs £2,000 a year to maintain the playing field and playground.

Nina said: "The men have been really good and it wasn't difficult to persuade them. The photo shoot went really well. It's been done on the provision that next year we do a ladies calendar.
The calendar includes parish councillors Bob Baker as Mr February, Adam Teal as Mr August and Clive Bolton as Mr September.
The photo shoot was carried out free of charge by Gary Wells Photography, Hull.

Calendars cost £6 and are available from Bobs Shop, The Tiger, Newbald mother and toddler group, or playing fields@hotmail.co.uk.
