MOURNERS attended the funerals of two boys this week who died in a garage fire.
Friends and family were in attendance at All Saints' Church in Holme-on-Spalding Moor to say a farewell to pals Daniel Allan and Ryan Steels.
The 14-year-olds died following an early-morning blaze in an unused garage next to where Daniel lived on
Chestnut Drive.
The funeral for Ryan was held on Tuesday afternoon and a service for Daniel was held on Wednesday morning at the church, and then at York Crematorium.
The two boys died after the fire ripped through the garage in the early hours of Saturday, 17 May.
The two friends are thought to have been camping nearby but sought shelter from rain in the empty garage.
Firefighters got the call shortly after 4am and were able to bring the fire under control within minutes.
However, Daniel's body was found in the remains. Ryan suffered serious burns and was taken to Alder Hey hospital in Liverpool but died two days later.
A police investigation is still continuing into where the boys had been in the hours leading up to the fire. The matter is still being investigated as a criminal investigation by Humberside Police.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Oliver said: "We are still treating this as suspicious and inquiries are continuing.
"I would urge anyone with any information to contact us and help us establish the truth of what happened."
