Verdict: A tale of two seasons, really. Inept, abject and ponderous under the well-meaning David Weir. And then the rapid development of a dynamic, well-organised and hard-working outfit under Nigel Clough.
Best player: Jamie Murphy, like a new signing.
Biggest disappointment: Marlon King.
Best moment: There were plenty but Stefan Scougall’s goal at Wembley stands out for me.

Hide AdLowest moment: David Weir’s rabbit in the headlights interview just before he got sacked.
Where this season has gone right/wrong: Appointing Nigel Clough, pure and simple.
Advice to manager: More of the same please.
Best opposition team: Wolves.
Was the season a success or a failure: The Cup run was great but a failure, overall.
