Models and filmstars dined at Cameron’s retreat
The German beauty and her English movie producer husband Matthew Vaughn were invited to a Chequers gathering as guests of US ambassador Matthew Barzun.
Their names are on a roll call released by Number 10 of political, diplomatic, military and business leaders to visit the Buckinghamshire mansion in the first quarter of the year.

Marks & Spencer boss Marc Bolland, ex-MI5 chief Baroness Manningham-Buller, the Queen’s private secretary Sir Christopher Geidt and the head of the UK’s armed forces General Sir Nicholas Houghton and the other service chiefs were also guests.
The Prime Minister was sufficiently impressed by gifts of a £150 watch from Interpol and a £279 pair of shoes from designer outfit Oliver Sweeney - though they will together have cost him only £149.
Ministers are allowed to keep “small value” gifts - defined as any worth up to £140 - with that sum being discounted from any more expensive items they wish to hold on to personally.

Rather than offering tips on how to dance around Number 10 or stand up to the USA, as Grant’s character did, the talks focused on Curtis’s campaigning on international development, according to the official disclosure.
