On this day in Yorkshire

EASTER visitors to York Minster will be able to see the famous Five Sisters window unobscured by the scaffolding which has filled the North Transept for many years.
Mr. J.W. Green, the Minster Clerk of Works, told me last night that It was hoped to have the scaffolding removed in about three weeks.

During the war the Century glass was removed from the window for safety. It was reinserted during 1950, but the window was still hidden by the scaffolding.
