Lord Jones was invited to Hull by Angela Martinson, head of Newland School for Girls. She said: “Traditional routes into the workplace have fragmented and evolved, and the competition for jobs is extremely tough. Therefore, I believe it is crucial that we expose our students to the huge range of possibilities in the world of work. In addition, it is only through collaboration that education leaders can really tune into the qualities and skills that are required by businesses.”
