In his speech, he called for Yorkshire to unite behind a bid for a region-wide mayor to win more funding from Westminster.

Past winner Andy Finneran, chief financial officer of R&R Ice Cream, told the audience about the importance of finance directors in acting as a counter balance to entrepreneurial chief executives.
