Classical Preview: Penny concert to introduce chamber music
The concert, given by Sheffield-based Ensemble 360, is primarily aimed at those who do not normally find time for chamber music, or simply don’t have any interest – or at least, wouldn’t normally.
The hope is that after seeing a concert, audiences may find they would enjoy future events that take place in the Studio Theatre, the UK’s busiest provincial venue for small classical groups.

They are performing three masterworks by Bach, Beethoven and Schubert, all 11 members of the ensemble appearing in various permutations.
The concert comes as one of 20 in the autumn season, members of the Ensemble appearing in 11, and guest artists including the American Grammy-award winning the Parker Quartet (November 11), and a most exciting young British group, the Doric String Quartet (November 2).
Ensemble 360’s South Yorkshire residency also includes a season of five concerts in Barnsley, four in Rotherham, and a busy national touring schedule. Further information from [email protected].
